Can you please describe a details of searching for skilled jobs via career sites and negotiating with recruiters and difficulties/areas to concern for Pakistanis face after immigrating? Thanks for the great website and effort.
Hope you are doing great. Thanks for appreciating my work. Regarding the career websites you can find job however you will have to search weather they will sponsor a visa too. Most companies does not prefer to hire from outside United States because of increasing unemployment rate however in some area of expertise e.g. engineering, doctorate, technical work when companies doesn’t find suitable candidates in United States they sponsor work visas too.
Regarding recruiting companies, they also give work visa and show you as employed while looking for projects for you to work on and taking more than half of your salary. One of my friend is working with recruiters and he is getting around $22 an hour from recruiting company as a salary whereas in real he is getting paid for more than $50 per hour. He is software engineer. He is also stuck with them till he get his green card, the total process might take around 6 to 7 years.
There are many drawbacks of recruiting companies and its not easy to find a legit and a good one however if someone wants to go at any cost then you can however once you sign a contract with them, you will have to stick with them.
